April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th in 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began to take guitar lessons and piano lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. In April, when she was 12 years old, she composed her first single, Different. In her 14th year, April devoted much of her day creating and playing with songs. She started writing songs along with her dad at home in NY and LA shortly after. April added other themes to the song "Take My Hand" to help her acquaintances who faced issues such as peer pressurization issues, or even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle influencer as well as having partnerships with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia, has built a large fan base. The truth is that she was born without a left hand and that is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only thing about her. As a result Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't shy away from her disability, but it's not focused on it either. It's a message. This is the message That we all carry many identities, we're more complex than we think we're. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability will define my character. I don't intend to be an influencer on disability because I have many more things to contribute." It doesn't impact my daily life. I conduct doing my job as normal and have come up with my own methods to adjust. Because it's an integral part of me and something worthy of discussion. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. She has gone through phases where she felt uncomfortable in dressing in certain styles that exposed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she likes. She also posts her photos on social networks. The self-love she talks about is a process. It's not clear whether you'll get to the point of no return. It's the same for everybody regardless of how much they are afraid. People you associate yourself with that truly understand your personal story and who can look inside your soul are the ones you should be relying on to remind you of what you're concerned about.
